Review of "A Tapestry of Secrets" from The Book Matron
“A Tapestry of Secrets” by Sarah Loudin Thomas is a warm heartfelt novel of three women, Perla seeking redemption, Sadie her true identity and Ella an unknown future and a genuine love. All three women must find the courage to join together to find the peace and answers they are seeking to build a future of lasting friendship and love.
Perla Phillips has been forgiven of her sins long ago, but the past keeps coming back to haunt her. A strained relationship with her daughter Sadie leaves her wanting to confess a secret she has kept buried most of her life. A debilitating stoke now leaves her powerless to communicate and Sadie more frustrated than ever. Putting more strain on an already stressed relationship, Ella tries to help grandmother Perla in her rehabilitation and smooth the relationship between mother and daughter. However, both mother and daughter are stubborn making progress slow. Thoroughly frustrated, Sadie asks Ella to combine forces to discover the secret Perla has long kept buried in her past. While Ella is assisting both Perla and Sadie she must work through her own struggles, a failed engagement and a struggling relationship with God. All this while fighting her attraction to Seth, a good man that can offer everything she has ever wanted. Together with the Lord’s help, all three woman will eventually find what they are searching for, love, peace and lasting friendship.
I liked the characters Sarah Loudin Thomas has created in her novel. They are warm and friendly giving the whole novel a down home country feel. You want to get to know the characters and be invited over for coffee and dessert. The women she creates are strong but loving, smart but sensitive and all are gently flawed. “A Tapestry of Secrets” makes you want to sit back with a cup of coffee or tea and get comfy in your favorite chair and enjoy.
If you enjoy good Christian fiction this one’s for you. You will enjoy the growth and development of the characters and the love and support the neighboring community has for one another. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and know you will too. I appreciate being given an advanced copy from Netgalley for a fair and honest review.
