There's not much better than a fun, light-hearted romance that's packed with humor, and with Blind Date Bride that's exactly what the reader gets. I have to admit that I'm a reality TV lover at heart and have watched every season of The Bachelor since its inception, so I thought the premise of this book sounded cute and fun--super promising and when I started reading, I wasn't disappointed.
The main characters Kari and Damien meet for the first time -- you guessed it -- at the alter, on their wedding day. (Hence the title...hehe). I really loved both characters. Damine was sweet and not pushy with Kari. The book goes through the stages of their relationship, the awkwardness, and their own life issues. I felt like almost from the beginning I was rooting for their marriage to actually work. Then again, maybe I'm just a romantic at heart. But true to form, this romance has a happily ever after.
5 STARS to Blind Date Bride!
Nearly a decade ago, accountant Kari Parker shed 220 pounds of dead weight â her hulking, abusive college boyfriend. The last thing she wants in her life is another man â especially one as tall as a Windy City high rise. Yet when her best friend enters her in Romance TVâs âGet a Love Lifeâ contest, another man is exactly what she gets. As much as she'd love to just say no, she can't turn down the prize money that will allow her to help her parents save the restaurant they've run all her life. Sparks fly between Kari and her bogus groom, and as she and Damien share close quarters, intimate meals and â gulp â his bed, Kari doesnât stand a chance of resisting his considerable charms. Even worse? She might not want to. But building a real future out of their sham marriage will be tougher than baking a wedding cake from scratch ⦠with no flour ⦠in a broken oven.
