MY REVIEW: Squishy Face and the Moon is a children's book that teaches children about--you guessed it--the moon! In the book Mama's daughter, whom she refers to as her squishy face, is afraid of the moon and so her mother goes on to teach her about so that she's no longer afraid. Over all, I thought this was a pretty good children's book. I loved that it teaches children about the moon and included a picture and explanation of moon phases in it. The only downside this book had would be the illustrations. I'm thinking the author used some of her daughter's artwork, as she dedicated the book to her in the beginning. I just felt like had there been a really good illustrator for this book, it would've made it THAT much better. Overall though a decent read for your youngster.
Squishy face is a little girl in a big world, which often frightens her. Luckily, she has Big Mama to guide her and show her the way. In this book, Big Mama teaches little Squishy Face about the moon.
