~ Guest Post by Keith Taylor
An author can reach many readers with their stories, experiences and interaction. Having a platform helps in building your fan base but it does nothing for physically being in front of your readers. It is exciting to be involved with readers at book signings, speaking engagement and at book club meetings. My best experience did not happening in these particular situations but happened in an unexpected place, a Walmart.
A lady came up to me at a local Walmart and started telling me about her life and the different struggles she has been dealing with. The lady explained to me that she had wanted to purchase a copy of my book but could not afford it at that time. I walk the lady to my car and handed her a free copy of my book. I signed the copy with a little letter of encouragement telling her to stay in the race. The lady breaks down and tells me through a stream of tears that this had been the best day of her life. It was like she just won the lottery. This experience blew my mind and truly blessed me that I was in a position to help her.
You see it doesn’t have to be a book, but can be a little encouragement, a simple sentence of motivation or a listening ear that can make a reader’s day. This is what makes being a published author worth it.

With the help of her police contact, she’s on the case of what appears to be a random string of high-profile suicides sparked by guilty consciences. But there’s something strange about the suicide notes: They all say, “I deserve to die.” Olivia is determined to break the story that the deaths are the work of a serial killer.
She gets her big break when the killer commits a sensational double murder. “The Punisher” is on the hunt, and adulterers among the elite of Washington, D.C. are his prey.
The further Olivia pursues her story, the more her life unravels. And the more she uncovers, the more she begins to think that solving this case will also lead to discovering the truth behind her best friend’s mysterious disappearance two years earlier.
Willing to do anything to unveil the identity of the psychopath who is behind the successive murders, she finds herself embroiled in a psychological game, and it’s become chillingly personal. A stalker has been breaking into her home and sending threatening messages. Someone is trying to scare her away from her attempts to bait The Punisher with her news stories—someone close to her. It’s a dangerous game she’s playing, and it all leads up to a magnificent twist ending. Will Olivia’s search for truth turn up anything? Or will her tenacious investigation cause her to lose her job, or her marriage—or her life?

Ghosts of Salem: Haunts of the Witch City came just in time for the upcoming fall season! If you love history, lure, legends, ghosts, or haunted houses, you'll love Ghosts of Salem, and I highly recommend picking up a copy. Baltrusis' writing is clever, witty, and he does an amazing job of pulling the reader in and chilling you with tales of haunts in Salem. I loved learning about the town, it's history, past and present and I loved the photos! They really enhanced the experience and satiated my imagination.
Nestled on the rocky coast of Massachusetts, Salem is a city steeped in history and legend. Famous for its witch trials, the storied North Shore seaport also has a dark history of smugglers and deadly fires. It is considered one of New England's most haunted destinations. Inside Howard Street Cemetery, the ghost of accused witch Giles Corey wanders among the gravestones. Outside the Ropes Mansion, the ghost of Abigail Ropes can be seen peeking out of the windows. The Gardner-Pingree House on Essex Street is host to the spirit of sea captain Joseph White, a man whose murder in 1830 inspired literary giants like Edgar Allan Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Join author and paranormal journalist Sam Baltrusis on a chilling journey through the streets of Salem as he chronicles the historic haunts of the Witch City.
